Group 500 Connectivity The RealPresence Group 500 takes up very little space yet it powers executive meetings, HR benefit roll-outs, and multi-site education programs. Dual HDMI video outputs allow for connection up to two (2) monitors or projection screens. Video inputs include the EagleEye 3 HD camera's HDCI connection, a HDMI connection and another for VGA. Content can be shown at resolutions up to HD 1920x1080 with many options along the way. These connection and resolution options allow for a single system to meet the needs of multiple purposes for multiple departments. The most important feature is ease-of-use. HDMI connectivity screams of easy but the user interface quietly makes the user experience a non-technical one; where their entire focus remains on their meeting and not the equipment. Make no mistake about this: This system is the newest and best of its class. This is state-of-the-art technology. This Polycom Group Series 500 is a single-point, HD 720p, videoconferencing system. It is approximately one year old in nice condition. The codec (base system) does have some minor scratches on it. The camera will be shipped in its original box and looks like it could be new. The remote has been used but looks nice. The codec is so small, 11"x5"x1", that it can be hidden away and out of view, with all your cable attachments, while the camera mounts neatly on a shelf above your monitor or projection screen. Unless you are performing remote surgery or using the system to design the next Mars rocket, 720p is what is recommended. 1080p requires a lot of bandwidth and with that need come additional problems with firewalls, networks (especially MPLS networks), and operating costs. However, if you need to add the 1080p option, the multipoint option, or a Polycom Extended Warranty, you can purchase those options from GAVX now or at a later date.
