13 coated block magnets for the prevention of hardware disease in original box. The box originally had 12, but there is an extra bar to make a total of 13. Each bar measures 2.5" long and about 1/2" cubed. Please see pictures. The coating may be an epoxy. It feels like a rubber or plastic coating. It is black with a glossy finish. Please see pictures and send questions if you  have them. These are extremely strong and tight together.
