You are considering a Powermatic Model 87 Bandsaw. This machine is used, but is in fair overall condition. We have tested this saw here and it seems to run out fine. We have listed its condition as fair because it has a good bit of surface rust on its bare metal parts from sitting unused. Otherwise, it shows normal wear from use and storage. The previous owner had used this saw to cut the same part over and over, so the variable speed pulleys and 2-speed transmission are a little hard to adjust from lack of movement. The more we worked them the better they got, but the saw may need some TLC to get everything free moving again. The motor runs strong and there was no excess noise while running that would indicate bearing problems. Both of the rear blade guide bearings turn free, but are grooved from running and may need replaced in the near future. The band wheels are in good shape. We only received the one blade that is installed on the machine and it is very dull. Saw is being sold AS IS. Mfg.
