The scale has been tested. *When the control is moved it sometimes reads a weight of .01 - .30 ounces. I do not know if this is something that can be explained by the design of the item and what it's used for, or if there is an issue with the wire or control. The scale has some indents in the center and along the side. The sides have minor scuff marks and dark smudges. The case has some minor scuff marks and scratches. The latches are broken; one has a large crack, and the other is loose, but they do latch shut.
