This listing is for a 3 month-old high-performance thermocouple datalogging digital thermometer from SPER Scientific, used twice, in like new condition, complete with certs to 2017, Includes the unit, a new unused K-type thermocouple, the padded carry case, the CD, and the RS232 computer interface cable. The specs on this unit are truly outstanding: accuracy +/-  0.1% resolution of 0.1 C (the certificate shows that it is spot-on at -200, 0, and +1000C) Obviously the recording interval can be set by the user. We used 10 minutes. The SE305 software (download from SPER) is easy to use and to output as excel data. You may need an RS-232 to USB cable from amazon if you don't have an RS232 port. You may also need an AC adapter if you plan on doing very long recording runs. A 9V battery is good for about 4 days of continuous recording. LIST PRICE IS $255 plus shipping on SPER Scientific Direct (sperdirect.com) We paid the extra money to have the unit calibrated/certified at the time of purchase. The NIST-traceable certificate of calibration is included and is valid to January 2017 (next recommended calibration). (You can recertify it yourself using the NIST-approved freezing water calibration, or have it done by any local metrology service) The unit was used to validate a new process - we had to prove that our ultra-low temp freezer maintained a tight temperature tolerance.
