Mfgr Specs: The CT30 is sleek 7-day programmable thermostat with touch screen controls. The CT30 works with nearly any HVAC system - including traditional furnaces and heat pumps. Has a large screen with bright white back-light. Can control up to 2 stages of heat and 2 stages of cool. Can be programmed up to 4 independent periods per day. Backed by our 365-day a year call center if you have any trouble with your installation. You must have either power from the furnace ("C" or "Common" wire) or an external transformer to power the thermostat in order to run the Wi-Fi module. Radio Thermostat isn't a well-known name with programmable thermostats, but they have earned a spot in our lineup because the CT-30 gives you total control of your environment, even over a Wi-Fi network. Connecting the thermostat to a network is tricky and may require help from an HVAC professional, but the CT-30 thermostat offers users several stages of heating and cooling and a user-friendly touchscreen for simple programming. The CT-30 offers seven-day programming, which is ideal for anyone with a sporadic schedule. When you need to override a schedule, you can use the auto-to-manual mode for overriding just that day's schedule, or you can completely override an entire week with just one touch. This smart thermostat allows for do-it-yourself installation, but it doesn't have a built-in level. The manual does gives an extensive walkthrough of the installation and programming. Setting a schedule is even easier with a 7-inch touchscreen. The screen is a little stiff though, and you may find yourself pushing on the screen harder than you want to just to change the temperature one degree. Since the CT-30 works on two stages of both heating and cooling it will work with nearly any HVAC system. This digital thermostat reminds you when it's time to change your air filter and alerts you of any system malfunctions; you can even view these alerts on your mobile device through your online account. The CT-30 has a Wi-Fi port that only works when you plug a Wi-Fi module into the thermostat. This module (included with the thermostat) connects with your online account so you can change the thermostat settings from anywhere you have internet access. From your online account, you also have access to energy savings sites to see what you are saving. Setting up the Wi-Fi option may require the help of an HVAC professional. There are many other features offered with this digital thermostat, such as a programmable fan to keep the air in your home moving, and a humidity sensor. As with any thermostat that has a humidity sensor, in order for it to work you must have an HVAC system that has a dehumidifier. Radio Thermostat only offers a one-year warranty with the CT-30. This is unfortunate since many other manufacturers offer five- or 10-year warranties. The website offers installation and programming guides once you get your thermostat.
