Here is my NEMA 10-50P to 6-50R plug adaptor. It allows you to move the oven and plug in a welding machine or plasma cutter. The cord is 4 to 5 feet long, the lines are both 8 gauge and the ground is 10 gauge, that makes it a "8/2 + 10ga" cord. This is a medium duty cord, you can run more than one machine off it. The 8 gauge cord can support a 40 amp load continuously and can run 50 amp loads at a 60% duty cycle, that means 6 minutes on, 4 minutes off. Most welding machines that draw 50 amps have a 20% to 50% duty cycle when running at full power. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Pictures are examples, This adaptor uses a cord that is New Old Stock. It has scuff marks, dust and looks kind of used but is a new cord that was never installed as far as I can tell. The metal housing to the plug is ground. It is only intended for indoor use in dry locations. Do not use NEMA 6-50 series on machines that use line to neutral/ground power for lights or fans. Do not use this adaptor on anyting that uses line to neutral power like clothes dryer or electric range. Any machine like a welder or plasma cutter that came with a NEMA 6-50 cord from the factory does not use line to neutral power unless there is a short cirucit or falut with the machine. This is a non-surge protector cord set. Always cut power when plugging in or unplugging 220 volt cords. I plugged this adaptor into my 10-50 receptacle in my garage then powered my clothes dryer through this adaptor with yet another adaptor and dried a few loads of clothes, drawing 25 amps for most of the time the drier is running. Then ran both the clothes dryer and air compressor off it for a grand total of 35 amps. Cord set and metal handy box showed no signs of warming up.
