*RARE* SJOGREN 5C COLLET SPEED CHUCK 1-1/2 x 8 TPI (later HARDIGE-SJOGREN). This came off of my South Bend 9" model A and worked great w/o any issues I'm aware of. I buffed some of the steel looking for a part number... none! That being said, I believe this is the first speed chuck made by Sjogren for South Bend, Atlas, etc. and fits more recent lathes with a 1-1/2 x 8 TPI spindle. There is no model number and printed with patent pending. Much later, Hardige-Sjogren has evolved with different back plate designs - all with the same, original panetary gear design. Since no back plate is needed or used, this has much less mass and depth like later models with less runout potential. Please see the pictures as they "describe" the true condition.
