This HY-515ATC is specially designed for beer brewing. This hand-held optical refractometer measures the density of sugars in the solution and gives you an instant gravity readings at any point during the boil, or run off from the mash. You do not need to convert the reading from Brix to specific gravity or do an adjustments for temperature. For other solution like sugar, you can easily test sugar concentration by just droping sugar solution on the prism and covering the sample with the plastic plate attached.Then read the sugar value scale through the lense. It is easy to use and carry it. We also recommend this for checking various industrial fluids such as cutting lubricants and flux rinsing compounds.
