Andover Protection Systems manufactures the only refrigeration and air conditioner compressors specifically recognized by UL (Underwriters Laboratories) as suitable for use in hazardous areas.  These compressors come directly from our stock and are new. APS' UL recognition covers the conversion of the compressors made by certain major compressor manufacturers such as Bristol and Copeland so that they can be used in equipment installed in hazardous areas.  These compressors can be used in either Class I Groups C and D  Division/Zone 1 and 2 areas or in Class II Groups E, F and G Division/Zone 1 and 2 areas.  Some can be used in Group B Division/Zone 1 and 2 areas as well.  When we modifiy them, they retain the same operating characteristics (such as capacity and electrical consumption) as the compressors had before they were modified.  As a result, the operational data from Bristol or Copeland for the compressors under the name that they gave them apply to these compressors. This is a highly discounted price for explosion proof compressors but we will look at a reasonable offer if buying in quantity.
