DESCRIPTION ..... A working Vintage Riester Aesculap Otoscope Ophtalmoscope. Marked with number 6515-00-550-7199 on the lid top. Made in Germany and is stamped on the bottom cap of the main light unit. [see photos]. Function is a medical ear probe. Takes two "D" size batteries [not included]. There are 4 re-usable speculums of various sizes and has 4 interchangeable bulbs. WHEN BUYING or BIDDING MAY WE RECOMMEND THE FOLLOWING CONSIDERATIONS .... OBSERVATIONS: This item has some scratches, pits and spot rust in the finish. Some areas of the painted part has peeled. Seems to work OK when we inserted batteries and photographed. Light has a dimmer to raise and lower the brightness. Case has some scuff marks from seemingly normal wear and use and has a padded insert in the lid.. [see photo closeups for details]. SIZE / DIMENSIONS: Item is: Main unit = 8" long x 1-1/2" dia. Case = 9-3/8" L x 4" w x 2-3/8" thick / tall COMMENTS: This is a used vintage piece that would make a nice addition to a collector of medical equipment. We think it would clean up very well with some elbow grease, steel wool and aluminum / chrome cleaner, if one was so inclined to do so.
