ROCKWELL DELTA 46-623 WOOD LATHE  with TECO Variable Frequency Drive.  Very nice working condition. This is the heavy duty variable speed model that uses a variable pitch pulley to allow the speed to be adjusted while running from about 300 RPMs to 3000 RPMs.  It is a one horse power motor so at 3000 RPMs you have 1 HP.  But as you reduce the speed via the variable pitch pulley, the available HP at the head increases substantially--depending on the speed you choose. The GOOD PART is that the lathe is equipped with a  brand new TECO (Westinghouse) Variable Frequency Drive (VFD).  This is the type drive that is used in the new Powermatic variable speed lathes.   The actual motor is 1 HP, three phase and the VFD electronically creates true three phase power.  So you plug into a single phase 230 VAC outlet.  The TECO VFD is model N3-201-CS-U.   Turn on the power, turn on the VFD and then use the rheostat (you can see the knob at the right center of the drive face) to increase the speed from full stop to full speed or anywhere in between.  Slow it down, speed it up, stop and REVERSE are all controlled by the VFD with ease.  Assuming you you do not need the top speed of 3000 RPMs, you can use the original speed lever via the variable pitch pulley to slow it down a bit and thus increase the usable horse power.   The additional GOOD PART is that the VFD control and main on/off breaker is removable via two nuts and the lathe motor simply plugs into the control panel.  The VFD uses 230 single phase input to create up to 4.5 amps per phase of true three phase power.  So you can use the same VFD control panel to power pretty much any one horse power or less three phase motor.   Think of all of the cheap three phase machines you passed up.  Comes with a photocopy of the manual and the TECO VFD manual. It is running now. Come and try it. Please ask any questions. We can assist loading but we do not have a forklift and the unit weighs about 400 pounds.
