Sauter KM 1000 Balance This balance has a capacity of 1000g and a division of 0.1g. On the front is a tare indicator light, a circular bubble level, and a combination backlit optical display and two-digit number wheel for setting the mass. On the side of the unit are two knobs, and on the back of the unit is a focus knob and a shipping lock knob. The unit uses an internal light source to project the weight onto the optical display, with an on/off switch on the front; there's a DC power connector and a wall current power connector on the back, but cords are not included for either. The sample tray is 4.75" square. How the unit was tested: When the unit was plugged in and turned on the display lit up, but the tray remained sunken to its lowest position and couldn't be raised by adjusting the various knobs. It is possible that this unit requires some refurbishment of some sort, or that it would be useful as a source of spare parts.
