Sears Sawmills: Lumber making and Wood Working Tools, Equipment plus Sears Saw Mill and Accessory Price List, originally published by Sears Roebuck and Co., 1950s. Price List is dated 11.29.51 and states “We cannot guarantee these prices beyond July 1, 1952.” Reproduced in 2013 by Nation Builder Books, Mebane, NC. 8 1/2 x 11 paperback, 14 pages plus one sheet (two pages) Price List. Please note this is a new, photoduplicated reproduction, not an original. The accompanying pictures were scanned from a reprint, not the original. Please NOTE: The original had a red background on each page. Except for the front and back covers, this reproduction is entirely in black and white. But the front and back covers have been reproduced in color. This is a complete sales catalog for the entire line of Sears Roebuck sawmills and related equipment, mostly made by Dunlap. Unfortunately, I can not find any historical background on Dunlap sawmills, other than well-founded speculation that the line was named after the head buyer of Sears’ hardware department. The Dunlap name was used on a variety of different tool lines, such as power woodworking equipment and metal working machine tools. The actual manufacturers of these tools appear to be known, but there is no information I could find on who actually manufactured the sawmills and related equipment marketed and sold by Sears under the Dunlap name.
