6 tube pack #2, this time with black anodized aluminum. This is auction of 6 handcrafted nixie tubes, perfect for large, unique clock. All tubes are new, in excellent condition, I personaly made them during January 2015. I call this model "R|Z568M", the tube is inspired by old "Z568M" nixie tube manufactured half century ago in East Germany by RFT. The "R" in the name means "resurrection" - I've been working hard past three years to bring a manufacture of those beauties back to life. This tube has 50mm (2") tall digits, clearly readable from long distances. The tube itself is 125mm tall, the glass envelope has 50mm diameter (2"). Manufacture of such a tube is delicate task, so all the used materials are carefuly selected. The glass parts are blown from high quality Czech glass called Simax, it is hard glass, resistant to temperature shocks, scratches and chemicals. The base socket is made from aluminum. All pins are silver coated to provide long term reliable contact with driving board. If You have no electronics to drive these tubes, I can arrange a clock kit with many features (from PV Electronics) for around $115. If You need it, I am here to discuss all the process how to make a reliable clock for those tubes. Warranty: - unlimited for vacuum failures - unlimited for failure of the inner structure (broken weld spots etc..) - 10 years for sputtering issues (metal from electrodes depositing on the glass and other elements in the tube) Specifications: - ideal driving voltage is 180V with 8k2ohm current limiting resistor (tube draws 6mA). - the best way how to drive those tubes is "direct driving", not multiplexing - as for the lifetime - expected lifetime is more than 10 years in 24/7 mode, when directly driven. However, commercialy made tubes were able to serve for decades and I use the same technologies for long lifespan. Shortly about me: My name is Dalibor Farny, I am based in Czech Republic. I've fallen in love with nixie tubes by the end of 2011 and practically immediately started to prepare its manufacture. As a software engineer, I had no previous experience with vacuum tubes, working glass, vacuum problematics, machining etc., but I had will to learn it and overcome all the problems that appeared.
