This is a pair of extremely high gain (PIN or Avalanche?) photodiode detectors designed for use in a CT scanner. Most likely combined with a CaF2 or CsI scintillator crystal sheet. This photodiode is optimized for blue light. It can be used with a high gain amplifier to make a very sensitive radiation sensor if desired. The die configuration is closer to an APD than a PIN photodiode, but the electrical response seems closer to a PIN photodiode. This is a very nice optical part. It is pretty hard to find. I have lots of lasers and other unique stuff for sale this week.
