Note 1 specifies that the reverse recovery test conditions are IF = 0.5A, IR = 1.0A, IRR = 0.25A. Note 2 specifies that the measurement was done at 1MHz and applied reverse voltage of 4V. NTE580 is an excellent option for those seeking a silicon rectifier with fast recovery capabilities. At TA = +25°C with no thermal runaway, NTE580 can operate at 3A. It has a maximum recurrent peak reverse voltage of 600V, maximum RMS voltage of 420V, and maximum DC blocking voltage of 600V. When the lead length is at .375” (9.5mm) and TA = +75°C, the maximum average forward rectified current is 3A. The peak forward surge current is 100A when an 8.3ms half sine-wave is superimposed on the rated load. The maximum instantaneous forward voltage (IF = 3A) is 1.3V while the maximum DC reverse current (VDC = 600V, TA = +25°C) is 5?A. The maximum average reverse current (PRV = 600V) is 2?A at TA = +25°C and 100?A at TA = +100°C. NTE580 also has a maximum reverse recovery time of 150ns (Note 1) and typical junction capacitance of 65pF (Note 2). It operates in a junction temperature range of -65° to +175°C and can be stored in a temperature range of -65° to +175°C. When being soldered, the lead temperature should be at +350°C and .375” (9.5mm) from the case for 10 seconds. NTE580 is a general purpose silicon rectifier with fast recovery capabilities that can replace ECG580. This rectifier is made with high temperature metallurgical bonding that ensures there are no compression contacts. Additionally, it has fast switching capabilities that enhance efficiency.
