Absorbing much of the "flare" associated with arc welding processes as well as reflecting the vast majority of harmful UV and IR, coupled with an ability to dissipate heat keeping the lens and welder cooler, these gold coated lenses are awesome. Get an Aulektro for a comfort and clarity unsurpassed in welding lenses. These lenses transmit visible light in Green-Blue coloration. These lenses are not a distinctly completely Blue. . It must be noted however, that because these lenses are manufactured for use in EU, that it is absolutely necessary to use front and rear ANSI approved impact resistant cover lenses. These lenses are manufactured, tested and approved for use under European CE166/169 and ARE NOT ANSI Z87.1 approved. Purchase and use by the buyer is solely at their own risk. The lenses you will receive are in NEW condition and have never been used. The gold "sputtered" layer is actual metallic gold.... which is a very soft metal. Therefore... Please understand that Gold metal does in fact scratch very easily, and unhardened glass has a tendency to chip and nick, especially on squared corners. AS A RESULT.... I WILL NOT HONOR RETURN REQUESTS FOR A LENS THAT HAS MINOR CHIPPING ON THE EDGES OR CORNERS OR MINOR SCRATCHES IN THE GOLD. The gold coating serves the function of dissipating heat and reflecting much of the UV so that the lens itself does not have to "absorb" it, which creates much of the HEAT the gold is meant to dissipate. However, A MINOR SCRATCH IN THE LENS WILL NOT DECREASE IT'S EFFECTIVENESS TO THE USER OR CAUSE VISUAL DISTORTIONS UNLESS THE SCRATCHING IS HEAVY AND OVER A WIDESPREAD AREA, OR IF THE GLASS ITSELF IS SCRATCHED. I WILL ONLY ACCEPT RETURNS IF THE LENS IS ABSOLUTELY UNUSABLE TO THE BUYER AT THE TIME IT IS RECEIVED... NOT 30 DAYS LATER, NOT A WEEK LATER, BUT AT THE TIME IT IS RECEIVED. IT MUST BE CHIPPED HEAVILY OVER AN AREA THAT CANNOT BE COVERED BY THE BORDER OF THE HOOD LENS RECESS, OR CRACKED, BROKEN OR SHATTERED. MINOR SCRATCHES SUCH AS A SINGLE SCRATCH OR TWO WILL NOT QUALIFY FOR REPLACEMENT. THESE LENSES HAVE TRAVELED OVER AN OCEAN AND ACROSS THE U.S NEARLY 6000 MILES BEFORE THEY ARE RECEIVED BY THE END USER, SOME MINOR ABUSE IS TO BE ANTICIPATED.
