About This Item: For sale is 16 ounces (474+ ml) of Sodium Silicate 40% Solution [Na2O(SiO2)(H2O)] with a purity of 99.9%. Sodium silicate solution is a thick, clear viscous liquid, which is also known as water glass or soluble glass. The solution is made by dissolving the anhydrous material under steam and pressure. A MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) will also be included. Uses include – ceramics, catalysts and silica gel, soaps and detergents, adhesives (cardboard box sealant), water treatment, bleaching and sizing of textiles, ore treatment, glass foam, pigments, binder for abrasive wheels, foundry molds, waterproofing cement, flame retardants, and historically as a an egg preserver.
