For your machining needs I have a 1"-8TPI nut that can be used to make a spindle nose nut for a South Bend lathe or any lathe with this thread. These nuts are comonly called spindle thread protectors, but they are actually a knock out nut used to remove the collet adaptor from the spindle instead of a ram rod. This nut is hardended to Rc 24-38. It is easily machineable with carbide and the hard work, (cutting the internal threads) is already done. I will include a drawing giving all the dimensions necessary to finish machine this nut into a finished part. Thank you for looking at my sale.
