In addition, the TeraMetrics XD module includes a security module (ACC-3603A), which combines the Nitrox chipset from Cavium Networks with Spirent’s platform for even more advanced testing capabilities. The Spirent SmartBits LAN-3321A module, also known as TeraMetrics XD, is a powerful tool for testing network systems. Capable of simulating millions of clients and servers, it can test high-speed internetworking between Ethernet interfaces and other technologies such as ATM or Packet over SONET interfaces. The module also supports dual media 10/100/1000 Mbps and Gigabit Ethernet fiber on each port, wire-rate traffic generation and analysis at Layers 2 and 3, the ability to transmit millions of IP flows and analyze CoS and DiffServ information, and the option to run multiple protocols per port simultaneously to emulate large routed networks.
