Here we have a great flexible capaictance / resistance bridge ifrom the legendary Spraque Tel Ohmike series, which includes all replaced (except the 200pF) capacitors internally and also a pair of 1% reference capacitors 2uF and 200pF to test and calibrate the unit now and in the future. If you are reading this then you know about these.  The extra calibration caps included are:  1- 200pF JFX 1% 500V 1- 2uF JFX 1% 630V This unit i fully recapped from capacitors ordered from JustRadios, fully corrected and aligned the big main needle (tough job!), trimmed the plastic casing set points internally so that the casing does not interfere with the needle movement (these plastic cases can warp over the decades), cleaned all pots and switches, tested the tubes on a tube tester and the tubes performs at 100%+, and generally gone over some cosmetics. The 200pF reference cap on these old bridge units tend to be rock solid over the years so i chose not to replace it. The only thing left to finish on this one is replace the 50K pot which on the front panel is labeled "Voltage," and then to follow the steps of the calibration kindly listed at the TubeSound website. The unit functions with the current pot but the higher ranges of this pot are not reliable so to use this unit's full voltage range (around 600V+) you will want to replace this pot. It is worth noting that if you plan to use this bridge for testing only components rated below say 250VDC, you are good to go if you know what you are doing and you understand how to switch between the ranges to accomplish this. I visually checked over this 50K pot inside and you can see it was burnt out at a certain couple of points in the higher ranges. It's not difficult to replace the pot and you can acquire one from bob at TubeSound and other places. So almost all of the dirty work is done. I invested about 200$ total in this unit and have spent many hours on it, but am willing to let it go now since it was a mostly for fun project and I don't actually need a high voltage capacitance bridge with my lower voltage work that i mostly do. I used to also have an Eico 965 which was equally excellent and I had recapped and sold that one earlier this year. I'm willing to let this one go for 150$ because i doubt 200 will be fetched. With this purchase you will have bought a unit that has already been evaluated and has all known factors, rather than picking one up that the seller claims to fully work even though they've simply (and dangerously) turned it on to see lights and advertise that it works. :) Please note that this is serious equipment containing very high voltages which are without a doubt deadly. If you are reading this, you most likely are aware of this. I am not responsible for any mishandling of this unit.  Also, the caps pictured are labeled 5% but they are in fact hand picked to be 1%. Thanks for looking! I hope it goes to a good home.
