VistaView CableTec Stainless Steel Angled Washers for 1/8" and 3/16" Terminals The VistaView Angled Washers are to be used whenever a cable run is terminated on an angle using a threaded terminal. The washer is used on the outside of the post to help receive the terminal on an angle and is good for the VistaView Threaded Terminals in 1/8" and 3/16" sizes (short and long). The cap is placed on the outside of the beveled washer. The washers are T316 "marine grade" stainless steel. VVC recommends 1/8" cable and fittings for Residential applications because it is the smallest you can go while still passing building code. Some people choose to use a larger diameter cable like the 3/16" so that the cable will be more visible, whereas other people would rather see through the railing without seeing anything at all. Commercial projects typically call for 3/16" cable and Industrial applications recommend 1/4". Building codes differ from county to county across the United States, but VVC recommends spacing cables from 3" to 4" to ensure safety. The height of your posts (typically 36" or 42" high) will determine the number of cable runs that will be required.
