Offset Mass String Vibrator for use in demonstrating Standing Waves in a physics classroom; C-clamp is not included; includes operating instructions; originally from Sargent Welch Item #WL3256F; in original box; You will need a DC power supply with variable voltage output, a clamp to hold unit to a table top, masses to hang from the string to provide string tension, and a table-mounted pulley so that masses may be hung off the string.  String is included.  When I used this demonstrator in the classroom, I hung 2.2 kg of mass from the end of the string.  I gradually increased the voltage on the power supply and achieved up to the 6th harmonic (6 antinodes).  I made the students standing around the demonstration table wear safety glasses just in case the string broke, but it never did over a period of several years for numerous classes.  Vibrator is about 7.5 inches long.  Manufacturer is TekSys Corporation.
