As a conventional caliper, it has a 0 to 14"/0 to 350mm measuring range with 0.0005"/0.01mm resolution and up to 0.001"/0.02mm accuracy for precise measurements. With its adjustable-direction groove pins in place, it has an inside groove measuring range of 1.654 to 15"/42 to 381mm and an outside groove range of 0 to 12.5"/0 to 318mm. The LCD and function buttons allow on/off, zero-set, hold, inch/mm conversion, and data send. The RS232 data output allows connection to a computer with an optional RS232 cable (sold separately) or an optional Starrett DataSure wireless data collection system using a 1500-3A-1N End Node (sold separately). A knurled clamping screw locks the slide to save a measurement. The hardened stainless-steel frame and slide are durable and corrosion resistant. It comes with a lithium battery and is supplied in a fitted wooden case. The electronic groove caliper is suitable for applications such as quality control for machined parts.
