This version uses stepper motor and simple electronics controlled by a photo-eye to feed and present the piece to a gripper jaw. Every shaft, belt, roller, electronics and part that affects performance is tested and measured. The electronics are tested and replaced if it fails. We will also use the original electronics package which simplifies the use of these feeders, when applicable. New: Brand New Feeder, never used in production or feed more than 5000 test pieces. Demo: Like new with less than 250,000 cycles used for demos, but never in production. Full Rebuild: We completely strip this unit down to the component level and tirelessly measure every part to ensure it is within New Factory Spec. Any performance critical (or touches paper) part that shows any sign of wear or use is replaced. This unit may have some cosmetic flaws. Performance and function is as reliable as a new feeder. Due to careless use, not every feeder can be rebuilt to our level of quality and will fall into one of our refurbished categories. Our used feeder stock is primarily full rebuilds. Refurbished: Our Refurbished Feeders are vigorously cleaned while being disassembled down to the sub-assembly level and in some cases down to the component level. These units may show signs of wear and have some cosmetic damage. Using our combined 50 years experience, we replace any part or component that has less than 75% remaining life. We make every effort to restore this feeder to new condition, even using touch up paint of original color to repair deep scratches. If you are using our repair service, we will write up an estimate with 2 or 3 categories of repair. Critical - Must be replaced for proper function. Eminent- recommended repair will be needed soon or will help with the performance of the unit. Luxury - not critical, usually recommended for aesthetics or to add a feature that is not currently on the unit. Light Refurb: The Equivalent of what most local 3rd party service providers and in-house technicians do to refurb the feeder, we replace the feed belts and separator bands. The nip rollers are replaced if they have any signs of damage that will affect the performance of the feeding or have less than 75% life left. We disassemble the feeder to the sub-assembly level and each part must past our stringent testing criteria, staying within the manufacturer's rebuild specifications. We replace any part that we deem to have less than 50% life remaining. We clean the feeder as sub assemblies. The outer body is cleaned but not painted. This is the most common repair as the belts will perform at their best for 5 to 10 million cycles. Once you have used our rebuild service, you will find that the next 4-6 service events fall into this category. Our light refurb service will be done the same day in most cases and will generate an estimate for recommended repairs or areas of concern. We will note these as critical, eminent or a luxury type service. AS-IS: As-is feeders are being sold in this condition for 3 reasons. 1) We haven't scheduled it for our in-depth rebuild yet and offering it for a short time - usually due to how many of this model we have in stock already. The unit is in a condition and tested so we are sure it is operational and will require little to no service for a long period of time. The unit is custom, very old, obsolete, irrelevant or better used for parts. We make a concerted effort to inform the buyer of any and all the information we have on it.
