This is a VERY hard to find original Van Berkel U.S. Slicing Machine meat slicer.  It was made by the U.S. Slicing Machine Company in LaPorte, Indiana, and is in excellent original condition as can be seen.  It retains most of it's original paint and pinstriping!  It also has a lot of it's original nickel plating.  Everything moves and works as it is supposed to but it could use a little oil on the moving parts.  It has the original blade guard and flywheel on it.  It also has the original catch tray in the back slot for the blade.  It has an old repair on the back of the hub of the flywheel which could be dressed down and go unnoticed.  The bakelite knob that is used to adjust the movement of the tray for thickness of cut has been chipped off but the adjustment still works as it should.  The cast iron web that holds the sliced meat tray has one arm broken and missing but most of the web is still there.  This slicer has the original name tag and patent tags on it and they are in great shape.   This slicer would be a fine, eye catching addition to your deli, meat market, or early kitchen equipment collection or display.  These early ones don't come along very often and they usually aren't this nice and original!   I can ship this quite reasonably though Fastenal (the hardware company).  It can stay here as long as needed as long as it's paid for.  I can be reached at 262 573 1931 if you'd like to talk about it.  The pictures tell the story.  You'll like it!  Good Luck.
