From a Federal surplus sale, a Sokkia SET3B total station, with triple and single Lietz prisms. I was told by the fellow that showed me the equipment from this lot (he was an employee in the department that actually used this equipment), that they bought this machine back in the late 90s, and he thought they'd used it maybe 3 times since then, and they now need the space and decided to surplus it. Having done some surveying back in my younger days, I can definitely say that the condition of the cases is consistent with having been used 'maybe 3 times'. Everything about this set is in excellent cosmetic shape. The batteries were (unsurprisingly) dead when I got them. I charged one battery, powered it up, and the machine said it had a "data error", and then went to the screen as shown in the second photo. I presume there's some sort of watch battery inside for data retention that also died during long storage. I don't know how to use this particular machine, but it made some beeps and stuff in response to the button pushing. The upshot of all this is that I'm confident this is a working machine. You may need to replace the internal data battery, and I CANNOT guarantee that the two batteries that come with it will hold a charge very long - I only charged one to test it. I plan on checking again in a week or two to see if the battery retained the charge. In addition to the machine and prisms, there are instructions, a quick reference card, a charger, two batteries, yellow cover, a lint-free cleaning cloth, and a small tool kit. *IF* it should turn out not to work for some reason, you can return it for a refund. But please keep in mind that I am not guaranteeig the batteries, you should plan on replacing those. You will receive two packages, one for the machine, one for the prisms.
