Surveyors Gunter Chain composed of 100 links. The length being 66 ft.  Tags every 10 links are present. The handles are marked 4P. No other markings.  According to a publication by the American Society of Civil Engineers an advantage in measuring in chains is that 10 sq chains equal 1 acre. These chains are also called four-pole chain. A pole is 16 1/2 ft ; a four pole chain is therefore 66ft.   ;
