National Instruments (NI) PXI-8196 (multiple available) high-performance embedded real-time controller (Pentium M 760 2.0 GHz processor), with 100GB hard drive, and 2GB memory (max supported in PXI-8196). The controller is running Win XP Pro SP3, with NI DAQmx and device drivers installed. All controller peripheral device drivers, including GPIB are working properly. Each has part # 191435E-012 The GPIB and ExpressCard/32 slot were both tested for proper operation, the GPIB interface using X13 cable properly detected and communicated with GPIB device on bus, and a dual-port FireWire card was tested in the ExpressCard slot where it was properly detected, installed and operated properly. The controller was installed in chassis and used to detect, install and control various PXI modules in PXI-1042 chassis, the controller worked without issue. Also included with each PXI-8196 is a NI OEM Windows Vista CoA, installed on a NI PXI chassis tag plate, with fasteners so you can install on to your chassis. The new Pentium M architecture provides the highest mobile performance at clock rates lower than Mobile Pentium 4 processors. NI PXI-8196 performance is equivalent to that of a 3.0 GHz Pentium 4 system. It is ideal for applications requiring intensive analysis or PXI system development. A PXI-8196 embedded controller in a PXI chassis offers a compact, high-performance PC platform for modular instrument and data acquisition applications. The PXI-8196 controller with CoA on tag plate will be well packaged and sent in box via USPS Priority Mail, signature required, insured. The controllers each ship with NI Vista/XP Pro CoA sticker on a PXI chassis plate (with fasteners to install on your chassis). Each PXI-8196 has a 100GB hard drive and 2GB memory (maximum on PXI-8196). NI DAQmx and device driver software is installed which properly detected, installed, and allowed interaction with variety of PXI modules in a PXI-1042 chassis. The GPIB interfaces were tested using a NI X13 cable (not included), communicated with GPIB instrument (see screen shot). The ExpressCard slots were tested with a dual port IEEE-1394 interface and worked properly. The hard drives have Acronis backup of original NI XP SP2 installation images. The controllers each have minor cosmetic wear that will not affect function or performance, both in great condition, and with same part number, representative unit shown.”
