National Instruments (NI) PXI-8108 high-performance embedded real-time controller (Intel Core 2 Duo, T9400-based, 2.53 GHz dual-core processor), with 230GB hard drive, and 4GB memory (max supported in PXI-8108). The controller is running Win XP Pro SP3, with NI DAQmx and device drivers installed. All controller peripheral device drivers, including GPIB are working properly (see hardware devices screen shot). The GPIB and ExpressCard/32 slot were both tested for proper operation, the GPIB interface using X13 cable properly detected and communicated with GPIB device on bus, and a dual-port FireWire card was tested in the ExpressCard slot where it was properly detected, installed and operated properly. The controller was installed in chassis and used to detect, install and control various PXI modules in PXI-1042 chassis, the controller worked without issue. Included are the disks shown, including a Microsoft Win 7 Pro OEM SP1 installation disk, and two CoAs (one on each side of chassis CoA plate): 1. NI OEM Vista/XP Pro CoA; 2. Microsoft Windows 7 Pro OEM CoA. The 230GB hard drive has Acronis backup program installed and can be used to restore the original NI OEM XP Pro SP2 installation.  The controller has assembly part # 189410F-712L (RoHS compliant), SN 150D188, same controller shown.  From NI- The NI PXI-8108 is a high-performance Intel Core 2 Duo T9400-based embedded controller for use in PXI and CompactPCI systems. With its 2.53 GHz dual-core processor and 800 MHz DDR2 memory, the PXI-8108 is ideal for modular instrumentation and data acquisition applications. Dual-core processors have two cores, or computing engines, located in one physical package. Dual-core processors can simultaneously execute two computing tasks, which is advantageous in multitasking environments, such as Windows XP, where multiple applications are running simultaneously. Two applications can each access a separate processor core at the same time, which improves overall performance. Also, dual-core processors are ideal for applications with multithreading, such as NI LabVIEW software, which gives an application the ability to separate tasks into individual threads. A dual-core processor can simultaneously execute two of these threads. Up to 25 percent higher performance than the PXI-8106 1 GB (1 x 1 GB DIMM) 800 MHz DDR2 RAM standard, 4 GB maximum 10/100/1000BASE-TX (gigabit) Ethernet, ExpressCard/34 slot, and 4 Hi-Speed USB ports Integrated hard drive, GPIB, serial, and other peripheral I/O Windows OS and drivers already installed The PXI-8108 controller and other items listed will be well packaged and sent in box via USPS Priority Mail, signature required, insured. PXI-8108, high-performance embedded real-time controller, with XP Pro SP3, fully tested, in good working condition. The controller ships with NI Vista/XP Pro CoA sticker on PXI chassis plate (with fasteners); a Microsoft Win 7 Pro OEM CoA sticker is on backside of plate, in case an upgrade to Windows 7 is needed. Included is PXI documentation CD, Controller Resources CD, Device Drivers CD set, and Win 7 Pro OEM DVD which can be used with the Win 7 CoA if desired. The PXI-8108 has a 230GB hard drive and 4GB memory (maximum on PXI-8108). NI DAQmx and device driver software is installed which properly detected, installed, and allowed interaction with variety of PXI modules in a PXI-1042 chassis. The GPIB interface was tested using a NI X13 cable (not included), and communicated with GPIB instrument (see screen shot). The hard drive has Acronis backup of original NI XP SP2 installation. The controller has minor cosmetic wear that will not affect function or performance.
