FREE US SHIPPING! This is an old school thermo OVM photoionization detector. It has been tested and responds well to various types of chemicals I tried. A drop of MEK in the dish made it go nuts. This tester is very rare to find in working condition, and most of them for sale on ebay cheap are missing the special and incredibly costly UV lamp. In fact, the lamp alone, by itself, if bought new costs about double what I am selling this whole WORKING unit for at the buy it now price! Fortunately, the lamps generally outlive the machine's realistic working life if properly maintained. Yup if the sensitivity goes too low, all you need to do is buff the lamp window gently with some dry polishing compound to restore the function. Compare that to the newer throw away 800 buck PID all in one lamp modules! Anyway, It can be used with any 11 to 14V AC-DC adapter, or used with an external 12V battery pack if desired. The original internal lead acid battery pack was removed, but wiring in a new battery pack would be very simple. Upgrading the battery pack to lithium ion or lithium iron phosphate will give you 4x or better the original operating time! If you want an internal battery installed, I can do this and will list it as a service for you. Contact me to discuss the available options. This item is pretty hard to find. I have lots of lasers and other unique stuff for sale this week.
