Thermo Scientific Model 370 CO2 Incubator with Stericycle and HEPA filtration, 115V, Tested   Seller's Description: Offered is a Thermo Scientific Model 370 CO2 Incubator in excellent working and cosmetic condition.  This type of incubator is used predominantly for cell-culture applications, where the precise temperature control, HEPA air filtration, stericycle feature, and optional use of its CO2 environmental control system help to protect and optimize cell growth.  If your application does not require environmental CO2, CO2 can be deactivated, making it a typical lab incubator with precise temperature control. The incubator operates from + 5°C above ambient temperature up to 55°C; control is +0.1° and uniformity is +0.2°@ 37°C.  The 370 incubators are a more recent model than older 3110 water jacketed incubators, the newer series integrating the "Stericycle" functionality to enable high-heat sterilization of the incubator for minimizing contamination risk following manual cleaning.  As such, it is not water jacketed, making it lighter than a filled 3110, but offering excellent temperature control and recovery. The model 370 uses a Thermal Conductivity (T/C) sensor for determining and regulating CO2 level in the unit.   Humidity is generated "passively", by filling a pan that sits in the bottom of the unit and occurs through natural vaporization, aided by the convective HEPA filtered air in the unit; For this particular unit, %RH is not indicated on the display, but a standalone meter could be added by the user through the incubator's external port. HEPA filtration inside the unit provides a clean environment.  The HEPA air filtration system continuously filters the entire chamber volume every 60 seconds, reducing particulates to Class 100 clean room levels, to preserve your aseptic culturing environment by protecting against airborne contaminants.  The HEPA filter entraps particulate air contaminants and prevents their escape. Replacement filters are readily available from Thermo Fisher. The unit has a polished stainless steel interior with coved corners for easy cleaning. Three sturdy stainless steel shelves are provided, and are easily removed without tools for easy cleaning or 16-position adjustment.  The inner door gasket is removable and cleanable, and adjusts continually to ensure a tight seal. The user interface is easy to manage for setpoint, calibration or configuration.  Actual temperature is displayed digitally to 0.1 units.  CO2 displays on a second indicator to 0.1 units.  The exterior accessory electrical outlet gives the ability to add a lab rotator or external %RH meter through the rear access port; a glass door inside the exterior insulated door allows visibility without immediate temperature drop off.  This unit is in excellent condition. The interior and shelves are polished stainless steel in good condition with very few scratches to surfaces from use. The door seal gasket is in excellent condition and the interior is free from rust, pits or deep scratches.  The exterior looks clean with only a few minor scratches or nicks to the paint.  I have replaced the leveling feet with new equivalents.  Overall it presents very well. Below are the dimensions of the Incubator, and results from my functions test/ CO2 calibration Dimensions Exterior:            26.1” W x 39.5” H x 25.0” F-B                                                 (66.3cm x 100.3cm x 63.5cm) Interior:                                   21.3” W x 26.8” H x 20.0” F-B                                                 (54.0cm x 68.1cm x 50.8cm) Weight Net:                            260 lbs (118kg)   Results from Function Test: Unit powers on and operates quietly; it heats to set point of 37°C easily over about about 3 hours and is stable (+/- 0.1 °C).  After stabilizing for at least 12 hours, humidity increases as the water in the pan heats too.  With the incubator and pan at 37°C, I installed an independent %RH meter ranged to 99%RH in a saturated environment and waited approximately 24 hours, where it read > 96% (see picture).  Per the operating manual, it is important to keep the CO2 sampling port plugged to achieve humidity > 90%.     I then calibrated the CO2 sensor. The T/C unit was zeroed with a saturated chamber. Next, the CO2 setpoint was adjusted to 5.0%.  Flow from my tank began immediately and the unit's controls adjusted over a few minutes to 5.3 ± 0.1%.  After a few hours it stabilized at 5.0 ± 0.1%.  I used an independent test with an external IR calibration meter and adjusted the CO2 calibration on the incubator until both sensors matched at 5% CO2 (5.0 set point, 5.0% on independent meter; see picture); I then adjusted set point to 10.0% CO2 and IR calibration meter read 10.0, matching the units T/C sensor at 10.0% (see picture).  There is excellent linearity on this unit.  CO2 was deactivated and purged, returning incubator reading to 0.1% after several hours needed for humidity to re-establish. Internally, I've cleaned all surfaces with 70% IPA.  I then tested the Stericycle, following manufacturer's directions.  Once plastic materials were removed and the cycle activated, the internal temperature heated to 140 °C over about 1 - 2 hours, and the temperature was maintained for 2 hours.  The unit then began cooling as it should, returning to 37 °C (I approximate 12 - 16 hours for the entire cycle).    Who are you buying from?  I am a professional scientist/engineer with 27 years of laboratory experience.  I know equipment: how to use it, integrate it, or re-purpose it; test, troubleshoot and fix it (if need be); and mostly how to source and select good used pieces for my personal use or for resale here.  I provide accurate descriptions of what it is and what it can do for you.  If you have a question on this item or in comparison to another, please feel free to ask.  Thank you!       Shipping Options: (1) Local pickup is always an option; if this is selected, I can take either PayPal through Ebay, cash, or use Square to process your CC on site.
