For sale - 1 - Used Thomas Dredge Pump.  Model J-36, JS 1080-1.  This pump was purchased by our sand and gravel company along with several parts from a dredge that was being dismantled in Circleville, Ohio.  We use all GIW pumps and have no use for this item.  The pump itself is very heavily built.  The center of the shaft, between and through the bearings appears to be 5-15/16" and it is shouldered down to 4-15/16" at the sheave.  The bearing closest to the sheave is a huge oil bearing and appears to be okay.  The bearing closest to the impeller is smaller.  I cannot tell if it is oil bath or grease.  The hole where the grease fitting would go is open and facing the weather.  The bearing may be bad or will have to be cleaned up at least.  It is a removable cap bearing. The sheave is a 40", 10 groove, 8V or C section pulley.  I believe it to be 8V but I cannot find any markings.  It has a QD center and is stuck on there.  We tried to remove the sheave and could not.  The stand is a factory adjustable unit and is good and straight with no major damage.  We recently purchase a GIW stand and paid $10,000.00 for it alone. The wet end is in-tact.  The casing appears to be very thin and on the verge of failure.  There are hairline cracks and small hols in the top of the shell.  The impeller looks pretty good.  I would say better than 50% but we have not pulled it apart.  The suction liner looks okay from what I can see.  The pump will not turn by hand.  It appears that the impeller is faced up too close to the suction liner.
