Timing Belt, Single-Sided, Urethane/Polyester, 0.0816" Pitch, 1/4" Width, 9.4656" Length, 116 Teeth This timing belt is a one-sided synchronous belt for applications involving a definite motion sequence or indexing. It is made of urethane/polyester for resistance to corrosion and abrasion. It has a nylon tooth facing for resistance to wear. The smooth engagement of the belt and pulley resists noise and vibration. This synchronous belt is suitable for use in elevation mechanisms, positioning drives, linear motion drives, reciprocating drives, reversing drives, fixed center drives, and synchronized tracking, among others. Synchronous belts (also known as timing belts) have teeth on the underside of the belt that join with the grooves in a rotating pulley to transmit power at a constant speed without slippage. They are made of compounded rubber and are reinforced lengthwise with fiberglass cords for added strength. The belts require minimal re-tensioning and maintenance, no lubrication, and provide quiet operation. Synchronous belts are used in industrial applications such as agriculture, textile manufacturing, mining, and printing machinery, and consumer applications such as office equipment, home appliances, and automobiles.
