On offer here is a new in the box Mammoth brand Torque Multiplier. These are my own design and manufacture and we have been producing them since 1993. We originally produced in Russia to serve the European market. In 2000 we moved production to Hermann, MO to enter the US market. Because of the high price of lawyers, we recently moved production to Taiwan. The device pictured here is a 12 to 1 planetary. 1/2" input and 1" output. The actual output may vary based upon angle of incidence etc. It is labeled 12 to 1 gear ratio; 9 to 1 nominal output. It is rated at 1500 ft/lbs. torque (we have tested it without problems to 3000 ft./lbs.). Similar devices are listed in Grainger for $2000-$3000. I have no idea why. I had a tool dealer call me from Texas and ask why mine were so reasonably priced? I told him, "No lawyers, no carpeting, no air conditioning, no secretaries." He laughed and bought ten. I am starting this at $265 which reflect my costs of production and shipping. I have sold over 2000 of these in Sweden with zero failures and zero returns and the Swedish are very particular. Below is a customer quote which particularly flattered me: Dear mammoth9589, I have been using one of these for over a year. I love it. I use it to torque 55mm flange nuts on a pressure vessel to about 1000 ft-lbs. Very good quality and excellent price. You should let your past customers post reviews. The problem is , they are 1/2" too large for the box, so I have to fudge. Last week a customer got hit with a surcharge because "it did not fit the box". One out of fifty is not bad, but be advised if there is extra postage, it is your responsibility. The flat rate box costs $12.35. I require $300 insurance for an additional $5.10.
