Item is in complete working order. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Manufacturer's Description (for information purposes only): ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AuroraTango Modular GigE, E1, ISDN & xDSL Tester AuroraTango is truly portable, multi-technology platform that covers in depth testing of xDSL,ISDN, Gigabit Ethernet and 2Mbit/s (E1) testing. AuroraTango can operate in a fully automatic single button test mode using pre-defined test parameters and thresholds. A simple PASS/FAIL indication is provided together with a formatted test report that may be printed or exported to a PC. xDSL: With the ATU-R and STU-R modem emulation, the AuroraTango is able to test the local loopbetween the customer premises and the DSLAM at any point. Automatic tests will perform the analysis on the individual tones in order to check noise and load capacity on the physical level and capture xDSL upstream and downstream statistics to provide evidence of the performance. Thequality of the link will also be stated by the error counts and BER analysis. Recorded events exchanged between the tester and the DSLAM during the test will give additional information, especially when the link can not be established. In order to check higher layer connectivity, the AuroraTango also supports an IP Ping function. The IP Ping function supports PPPoE, PPPoA and Bridged connections as well as fixed and network address allocation and authentication. TheAurora Tango supports ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+ Annex A and Annex B, as well as SHDSL. ISDN: In terms of ISDN the AuroraTango supports TE, NT and LT emulation on Basic Rate S/ T and Ureference points. Pre-defined tests include detection of line configuration, Layer status information, BER test according to G.821, X. 25 TEI check and Supplementary Services check. The AuroraTango supports ETSI, VN and X. 25 D channel protocols. For in-depth ISDN analysis the unit allows event logging and full decoding. Gigabit Ethernet: The Gigabit Ethernet module has been designed for quick verification of metropolitan networks, ensuring the operation of Ethernet links, end-to-end applications and the provision of Gigabit Ethernet Service Level Agreements. The Aurora Tango offers two Gigabit Ethernet ports for simultaneous analysis and generation of traffic. Also end-to-end traffic testing with two units is supported. The Gigabit Ethernet modules includes the following features/functions: BERT test on Physical, MAC and IP layer Virtual LAN support Detailed Ethernet parameters and statistics RFC 2544 testing for benchmarking IP Ping, Trace Route, DCHP client, DNS support 10/100 BaseT port for legacy testing and frame dropping Copper cable parameter testing and optical power monitoring E1 (2Mbit/s): The Aurora Tango E1 Test Module is offering dual receiver functionality for bidirectional monitoring of framed PCM-30/PCM-31 signal with/without CRC as well as unframed signals. The E1 test capabilities include the following features/functions: G.703 balanced and unbalanced interfaces Frequency offset generation Editing/display of all overhead bits in the E1 frame Editing and display of CAS signaling plus time-stamped signaling changes log Display of all TS with Busy/Free indication External drop and insert of n x 64kbit/s signals Line level and frequency analysis G.821, G.826 and M.2100 performance analysis Round Trip Delay VF tone generation and analysis Pulse shape with Pass/Fail evaluation Jitter Measurements including Tolerance and Transfer All test functions can be accessed via a Personal Data Assistant (PDA).
