A flashing red LED and audible rps indicate the presence of AC voltage. The flashes and rps speed up as the detector nears the live voltage. Applications include detecting voltage in outlets, light bulb sockets, extension cords, appliances, power tools, circuit breakers, AC motors, video surveillance camera power, telephone, cablevision, light switches, and house trailer siding. Voltage testers detect electrical current in cables, cords, circuit breakers, switches, wiring, and other components of electrical systems.
