Description:  A US Navy OS-8 General Purpose oscilloscope for displaying X or Y or both inputs on an uncalibrated screen.  Manufactured by Jetronix under contract for the US Navy Bureau of Ships, these were used for "eye-balling" DC levels of hum, signal tracing and some signal display such as FSK, Teletype X-Y modulation type Lissajous patterns.  This is from the estate of an avid teletype enthusiast.  Back in the years (50's - 70's) these were very popular among hams savy enough to hook up their teletype equipment or monitor their transmitters.  Very cool too to teach vocational students how to "think" about what they are doing as opposed to looking to the instrument to tell them what they see. Included in this purchase is an original OS-8 manual.  Also, an OS-8x/U manual is available on line at the BAMA/EDEBRIS site and I can email one to anyone if you have a DJVU viewer installed.  Condition:  Vintage used item from an estate sale.  Decent physical condition and we see no damage or obvious issues due to handling.  This did power up but we performed no other tests.  The trace position controls seemed to improve playing with it so we think that in the right hands this can be reuseable.  However, we strongly caution that the buyer service this device thoroughly prior to re-deployment. Shipping:  Shipped quickly when paid quickly.
