Overview The USBSwiper brand USB credit card reader for Windows and Mac the same as any Magtek, IDTech, or other brand of card swiper you'll find on the market. The credit card reader is a standard reader compatible with any solution that utilizes the following specifications. 2 Track Reader (Track 1 and Track 2) Keyboard Emulation PC and Mac Magnetic Stripe Reader (i.e. Credit Cards, Driver License, etc.) Description Intro The original USBSwiper USB (Universal Serial Bus) keyboard emulation credit card swipe reader is a compact magnetic stripe card reader (3.5" x 1" x 1") which conforms to ISO standards. The card reader is compatible on Windows and Mac computers or any device with a USB interface. How it Works A card is read by sliding it stripe down, away from the LED side, through the slot either forward or backward. The reader emulates a computer keyboard which allows applications designed to acquire card data from keyboard entry to seamlessly acquire the card data from the USB swipe reader. Card Types Our credit card reader / swiper can read the data off of any card that contains a magnetic stripe. For credit cards, Track 1 and Track 2 are available. For a driver license or any other type of card with a stripe, whatever data is stored on the stripe will be presented on screen when swiped. Third-Party Software Compatibility Card data read using the USBSwiper credit card reader can also be exported to third party applications like Microsoft Word, Excel, FileMaker Pro, and more. If your current credit card processing merchant account (i.e. Intuit Merchant Solutions, CHASE PaymentTech, Elavon, etc.) provides any software that is compatible with a keyboard emulation, track 1 and track 2 reader, this card reader will work.
