USSC (United States Surgical Corporation) Shear Logic AutoSonix Ultrasonic Electrosurgical System & Footswitch I do not know much about this system other than it powers on, lights up and responds to the knob being turned and foot switch being pushed. The internal cooling fan is working. I do not have the transducer so I am unable to test it any further. The "Electrical Fault" light did NOT come on while I was testing it if that means anything? I also notice the "Output Level" display will always go to "5" when the Full pedal is pressed on the foot switch no matter what the knob is set at. Cosmetically it is in good condition with no visible issues. What you see is what you get here. I do guarantee it will not be DOA. Comes with the Autosonix console, Autosonix foot switch and power cord. There is a knob on the front to set the power level from 0-5. There is a standby/ready switch and indicator lights for Electrical Fault, Mechanical Limit, Power and Ultrasound On. The foot switch has pedals for "Var" and "Full" Specifics- United States Surgical Corporation - Shear Logic Ultrasonic Electrosurgical System Model: AutoSonix Serial No: A5844 Auto Sonix Foot switch (s/n: L2237) 100-130/200-250 VAC - 50/60 Hz - 3.0/1.0 Amps Ports: Transducer, Finger Switch Conn., Foot switch Conn., Power Cord Controls: Ready/Standby, On/Off, Output Level knob (0,.5,1,1.5,2,2.5,3,3.5,4,4.5,5) Displays: Power, Ultrasound On, Electrical Fault, Mechanical Limit Hospital Grade Cord Manufacturer's description: The AutoSonix™ System is a system of electro mechanical components designed to ultrasonically transect and coagulate a broad range of soft tissue. The system includes a Generator that produces a 55.5 kHz electrical signal and feeds that signal via the patient cable to a piezoelectric crystal stack mounted in the auto clavable transducer. The crystal stack converts the electrical signal to mechanical vibration at that same frequency. This ultrasonic vibration is amplified as it traverses the length of the titanium probe within the disposable instrument to levels which will permit tissue ablation, cauterization or cutting. The AutoSonix™ System uses ultrasound, or sound waves, for fragmentation of soft tissues. Unlike standard cutting or electrosurgical systems, the AutoSonix™ System offers precise control of tissue ablation due to the controlled ultrasonic field generated. This precise control allows the surgeon to perform a traumatic transect ion and coagulation with minimal disturbance to surrounding tissue structure. The Generator unit (Power Supply) feeds a 55.5 kHz (55,500 cycles per second) electrical signal to piezoelectric crystals mounted in the transducer. The active elements of the transducer then vibrate at that same 55.5 kHz frequency. When placed in a liquid, the vibrating ball tip causes microscopic bubbles to grow and then collapse with great energy intensity, thus causing the tissue directly in front of the Probe to be liquefied or fragmented. The blade tip allows cutting and coagulation of tissue by causing shear forces to be developed in the tissue. These shearing forces separate tissue and heat the surrounding tissue to a level which permits coagulation and sealing of blood vessels, without the burning associated with electrocautery. CONDITION Very good cosmetic condition with some normal sign of use and no visible damage. I plugged it in and it powers on and lights up with the internal cooling fan working. The Power light comes on and the diplay is reading the knob setting. When the "full" pedal is pushed the display reads "5" irregardless of what the knob setting is set at. The "electrical fault" fault light never came on during testing. When I first turned it on the "mechanical limit" light came on the first few times I pressed the "Var" pedal then it quit coming on? No other testing has been done and I dont have a transducer to test output. What you see is what you get here. I believe it is working or can be made to work condition.
