Not only is this meter functional, but it's also in great cosmetic condition. A grey sky produces a reading of 8 in units of 100 micro-Watts/sm2. Simply putting a photographic Heliopan UV filter in front of the cell, which won't impact visible light, reduces the reading by more than a factor of 2 (from 8 to 3).
