The end of the cord is a 3-prong MALE. At the other end is a variable speed control box with a 3-prong FEMALE. This is a generic or unbranded item; however, the company who sold the item is 'TRINITY VIBES'. This item has never been used. When I needed a variable speed extension cord, someone had told me that this item could be purchased at a better price through the 'adult' section here on Ebay. Call it a lapse in judgment but I did get a better deal by going to the Adults Only section of Ebay. Nevertheless, we were not able to use the cord as it was not what my husband needed for the project he was working on. This cord was plugged in for less than 1 minute to ascertain that it works and it does. Other than this, the cord is new and unused. PLEASE NOTE: There is a note on the side of the control box that says "Don't use on brushless type motors; will not work on soft/slopw start routers.
