Additional features include DTMF ANI, CTCSS/DCS encode and decode, BCLO, BTLO, and TOT functions, status quick check, compander, and scan options such as basic, priority, dual watch, and group scan. The radio-to-radio cloning feature makes it easy to program multiple devices, while the 25-pin accessory connector, water shield microphone connector, and public address system add to its versatility. Finally, user-selectable tones and radio-to-radio cloning make operating this radio a breeze. The Vertex VX-5500L is a VHF 37-50MHz low band mobile radio that offers durability and flexible configurations for demanding applications. This radio comes with a new mounting bracket, palm-mic, transceiver, programming software, manuals on CD-ROM, and a new OEM remote aux speaker. The exclusive Auto-Range Transpond System (ARTSв„ў) ensures you know your connection status at all times. Vertex Standard radios alert you when you and another ARTSв„ў-equipped radio are within communication range, and if out of range, your radio senses no signal has been received and beeps to alert you. The one-piece die-cast enclosure doubles as a chassis, creating extreme strength against shock and vibration. It's also designed to avoid over-heating, making it perfect for tough working conditions. When safety counts, the VX-5500 has built-in emergency alerts for enhanced driver safety. The panic button alerts the dispatcher when there's a problem, and the internal emergency microphone on the front panel helps the driver communicate with dispatch if the regular microphone becomes unusable.
