Greetings Made in Detroit lovers and vintage tool collectors ! ! For your consideration is a safety steel letter and number stamp set made by Volk Stamp & Stencil Co. Detroit ,Mi U.S.A ! This 1/4'' set is comprised of 28 characters. I'm not sure if there are letters missing or if they used a combination of stamps to accommodate the letters G,H,I,P,S and Z as there are no corresponding stamps for those letters in this set. Numbers included are 1-8 and there is an & symbol,which I have never seen in an industrial set before. Sorry,there is no top for this set,just the bottom holder. A little history lesson : The VOLK CORPORATION was founded by Harry Volk in 1890 as Volk Stamp and Stencil Company. Volk specialized in providing stamps and stencil products to industrial accounts in the greater Detroit market. Volk began doing business with General Motors and Ford at the beginning of the 20th century. Volk is still in business but has greatly diversified over the decades. Please.... look closely at the attached pictures as they provide a good idea of the condition of these items and what is included .
