Up for sale is this vintage civil defense OCD item No. CD V-781 Detector Unit Model No. 1, Serial No. 974 Aerial Survey Meter Nuclear-Chicago Corp, Des Plaines, Illinoist The unit functions to measure diffused gamma radiation in the 70kev to 1.2Mev spectrum, and to convert the measured intensity level to a corresponding current to drive the metering unit. All circuits are transistorized and circuit boards are removable without disconnection of the circuits to facilitate maintenance. Sensitivity adjustments are provided in the count rate circuits for calibration. Inside the Detector This part requires 9 "D" size 1 volt batteries, and / or connection to 12 VDC supply from aircraft. 3 Geiger Mller tubes are mounted on a removable board. If both power sources are used, they are selectable by a switch on the metering unit. Case is made of aluminum. Schematics are glued to inside of cover.      Please take a close look at all of the pictures for further detail on condition. You will receive the exact item shown in the pictures.
