Vintage Civil Defense Shelter Radiation Detection Kit CD V-777 in original box.  These can sometimes be found stowed away and forgotten about in the basements of sturdy old buildings, the type that were designated as fall-out shelters.  These kits are the remains of the Cold War.  This kit includes two Radiological Survey Meters, the CD V-700 and the CD V-715; also the CD V-750 Dosimeter Charger, which charges the 3 CDV 742 dosimeters that are also included in this kit.  These units are in good condition, however, I cannot guarantee their functionality, accuracy or performance in a gamma or beta environment, or otherwise.  Sold as a collectible item only.  These detectors are in nice shape, and we could not determine whether they were ever used. Includes the original instruction books, all dated in the early 1960's.  Also includes a set of headphones; once again, can't guarantee that these work.  Original box includes a mailing label on the top:  FROM:  Indiana Department of Civil Defense, Office of Emergency Preparedness, Room 90, 100 North Senate Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204 TO: Lake County Civil Defense, 2702 West 35th Avenue, Gary, Indiana 46408 On the side of the box is a Date Packed section that is stamped APR 1980.  Box is in good shape for being so old, I only had to reinforce the bottom with some clear strapping tape.
