Vintage-antique metal crimping tool in working used condition. Listed as a crimping tool, I am not sure of the function of this unique unusual tool. To me it appears to be some type of hand tool used to crimp metal or wire. The jaws are adjustable for thickness. When the handles are squeezed together, the center anvil moves upward. That action appears to put an indentation into what ever is held between the jaws of the tool. Found in and old garage and just lightly wiped clean, this tool has great original patina/oil and grime. There is the number "5" embossed on the inside on one of the handle grips. No other wording on this tool. Measures about 9" in length and is about 3" wide. Tool weighs just over 1 1/2 pounds. A very unique and different tool that would make a nice addition to any vintage tool collection. If you know what this tool is called or what is its function, please contact me. Any questions, please ask.
