This is a  vintage microvolter which when used with a suitable audio oscillator with 2.2v output converts an oscillator into a standard small signal generator that is useful in measuring gain or loss, frequency response characteristics, overload level, and hum level on amplifiers, networks, and other audio-frequency equipment. The output from 1 microvolt to 1 volt is set using the OUTPUT and MULTIPLIER dial-knobs. The OUTPUT control is a continuous rotary knob/dial calibrated in voltage 0 to 10 and in decibels from -20 to 20. The MULTIPLIER control is a six-position rotary switch whose dial is calibrated from 1 microvolt to 100 millivolts or from 0 to 100 db. A meter on the front panel indicates input in volts and in decibels. Included is a copy of the operating instructions  which includes a schematic. I applied a 2.2 volt source to the input and measured output with the 100 millivolt multiplier with results roughly as expected. My voltmeter would not accurately measure small voltages so I could not check out the other multiplier ranges. The case measures approximately 5-1/2" x 7" x 10", is black krinkle paint and in generally good condition other than some scrapes and spots of missing paint (one corner looks like it was hit or dropped on). The words Shop Standard and Radio are painted on top and there is a label written on the front that I suspect is probably from the Air Force. (see pictures)
