We have for your viewing and bidding pleasure a vintage manual operated portable typewriter. The basic color on the metal body is cream colored with the name Olympia in chrome writing. On the back is a metal riveted on tag which has OLYMPIA WERKE AG. WILHELMSHAVEN Made in Western Germany Inter-Continental Trading Corporation 90 West Street New York 6, N.Y.. There is a paper label stating OLYMPIA REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.. Underneath on a blue bar it is stamped with the number 2094256 (We assume this to be the Serial Number.) From what we can determine all the functions work including the bell. The key that has the = and ! , stick. All the others do not stick. The keys are in a script cursive writing (see paper in roller photograph). For extensive use we would suggest the key that sticks be cleaned and oiled and a new typewriter ribbon installed which would make the ink darker. Cosmetically the typewriter is in good condition. On the space bar there is a 1/4 ” round area of the paint that is the same color as the typewriter. This appears to be a little flaw in the paint from the factory. The typewriter sets on 4 round rubber feet and has its original hard carrying case. The typewriter locks in place so it does not move around in the carrying case. We are listing the above described and photoed vintage typewriter at a no reserve selling price so, thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
